The director general of the Ministry of Social Equality, Avi Cohen, embarked on a MAOZ journey to Morocco – and there he rediscovered his own story.
Upon his return, he led the effort of the ministry to present this story, which is shared by hundreds of thousands of Israelis – and made it an integral part of the complete Israeli story. At the height of the effort, the Ministry organized an event attended by tens of thousands of participants, commemorating the day of departure and deportation of Jews from Arab countries.
